Our team of highly skilled and innovative dentists is led by Dr (Mrs) Firoza Chariwala Principal DentistDr (Mrs) Firoza ChariwalaMrs Chariwala is the principal dentist at The Smile Clinics. She graduated from Liverpool University in 1999 and opened her first practice in 2005. Within a year "The Smile Clinic™" was both a national & regional award winning practice. Mrs Chariwala enjoys working as a Dentist and has a particular professional interest in smile make-overs as well as Orthodontics (braces). She is a certified provider of "Inman" Orthodontic Aligners which complements the general orthodontic service she provides. 'I have a wonderful complement of staff that collectively provides a friendly and reliable service for our patients.'
DentistDr (Mr) Helmi El-SakkaDr El-Sakka is our main dentist at the Horwich branch. He joined the practice in 2007 and has a specialist interest in Implantology (Implants). He has provided a caring and understanding environment for the patients and intends to further his interests in “Restorative Care” and “Prevention”. "I am happy to be an integral part of the team in Horwich. We support each other in providing our patients with a full, caring service and we work as a team to enhance the service provided by the clinic".
Regional ManagerJulie BartonJulie has been with the practices since 2008 and has been a great inspiration to all the team. She is available at each of the practices part-time and is always available over the phone. Julie’s responsibility is to supervise the staff and oversee all aspects of our service to make sure the patient journey is as smooth and as pleasant as can be. Managing DirectorDr (Mr) Z ChariwalaMr Chariwala is co-founder of The Smile Clinic and aside from his work as a GP in Manchester, he oversees non-clinical supervision, aiming to maintain a high standard of service. He is keen to promote wellbeing of staff and patients and works with these goals in mind. Mr Chariwala enjoys motorsports of all kinds and relaxes by playing tennis and studying 12th century Philosophical texts. He has a professional interest in Dementia and in Medical applications of Nanotechnology. "We are dedicated to providing the best standard of service here at The Smile Clinic. Qualified Dental Nurse/ Treatment co-ordinatorNatalie DayNatalie joined The Smile Clinic team in August 2011. She is a qualified dental nurse and has additional qualifications in Oral Health Care and has gained a Dental Nursing NVQ level 3. As treatment coordinator and having experience in different treatment procedures, Natalie will be on hand to give advice on treatment stages, treatment options and any other queries you may have.
Qualified Dental Nurse/oral hygiene providerFazila AliFazila works part-time at both the Bolton and Horwich branches as an Oral Hygiene Facilitator. She provides patients with regular reviews and advice to help improve their general dental knowledge. Fazila also provides fluoride varnish applications to teeth which help strengthen your teeth and reduce the likelihood of decay.
NursesRosemin PatelRosemin has been with the practice since we first started in 2005 and has thoroughly enjoyed seeing the practices evolve over the years. In the coming year, Rosemin hopes to enhance her skills in dental nursing and to be busy contributing to innovative changes at the practices. In her spare time Rosemin enjoys time with her husband and son. "I enjoy working in The Smile Clinic and feel I am part of a very special team!" Roxanne Jones As our second receptionist, Roxanne can be found part-time on reception. She is a qualified dental nurse and has been with The Smile Clinic since 2006. She is the infection control supervisor at the practice and aims to ensure that the practice’s high clinical standards are maintained. Roxanne lives with her boyfriend, enjoys socialising with her friends and eating out. "I enjoy working as a team player and find the team at Horwich to be made up of an excellent group of individuals." Jessica Wooff As the newest member of the team, Jessica joined the practice in July 2011. She is a qualified dental nurse and is currently pursuing a professional interest in Radiology. Jessica is the dedicated team nurse to one of the dentists and will be happy to provide you with moral support and a comforting hand to hold if you are nervous in the dental chair. Jessica has an interest in rock music and enjoys driving. "I like to think that a cheerful welcome makes all the difference so I will always greet you with a warm and friendly smile."
Reception StaffLisa AtchinsonLisa is happy to answer your calls and emails as well as to greet you as you come through the door. As designated fire marshal at the practice, Lisa is also responsible for ensuring that your visit is as safe as possible. She enjoys working with the team and feels proud to be part of the service we provide. In the coming year Lisa is hoping to gain further qualifications in dental nursing and further her interests in management. Lisa enjoys reading in her spare time and has a keen interest in cookery.
